Our Austrian Roasted Pumpkin Seed Oil is full of flavour and colour, and definitely an oil that has to be tried! It has been produced for centuries, from a unique type of pumpkin that is grown in the Styria region of Austria. The skinless seeds of the Styrian Pumpkins are carefully roasted and crushed to produce a thick, dark green, velvety oil with a toasted aroma and nutty flavour.

The amazing colour and flavour of our Pumpkin Seed Oil make it ideal for use as a salad dressing, for bread dipping and for drizzling over dishes - use it with roasting vegetables or as an accompaniment for fish and meat.

This rare oil has a high content of unsaturated fats, and the seeds from this pumpkin type contain vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, D, E, and K, as well as many minerals including calcium and magnesium

Research has also suggested that the following conditions can be helped by the use of Pumpkinseed Oil as part of a balanced diet:

Positive effect on cholesterol which can help prevent heart and circulatory diseases.
Aiding the prevention and treatment of bladder and prostate problems.

  This Gourmet Seed Oil is great drizzled over oven roaseted veg - such as parsnips, peppers, mushrooms, potatoes, with some cracked black pepper, sea salt, & rosemary - try it, it`s simply scrummy!!!! :-)

  This Seed Oil by Merchant Gourmet, has the most wonderful smooth nutty flavour, it`s great as a dipping oil for crusty bread & balsamic vinegar, drizzled over salads, even freshly steamed veg such as broccoli, or new potatoes - simply Yummy!!!

  I come from Steirmark and have been to mills that produce this wonderful oil, the Merchant Gourmet product is excellent quality. Once you`ve used this oil as a salad dressing ... mixed with a judicious amount of apple cider vinegar you`ll be loath to use anything else. Must stress that the oil from Steirmark in Austria is quite special. Do not be tempted to by inferior products such as sold by Tescos and Morrisons - echhh!

  I drizzle this over the roast potatoes about 10 mins before they come out of the oven and gives them a wonderfully flavour.
