Camargue Red Rice’s distinctive red colour will liven up your salads. Its nutty flavour and firm, chewy texture also add good bite. Try it as a colourful and tasty accompaniment for roasted chicken thighs or smoked mackerel.
This was one of our first ever products to launch, taking its name from the Camargue region of Southern France, where it is grown. The rice has not been polished and the outer bran layers are left intact, which is why it has an unusual red colour.
- Cook Camargue and stir in almonds, chopped apricots and sultanas. Serve as a side dish to grilled pork or gammon
- Fry chopped chorizo and spring onion until cooked through. Stir in cooked Camargue Red Rice and serve with freshly grated cheddar cheese on top
- To enhance Camargue Rice’s flavour, add the juice and grated zest of one lemon after cooking
- For a sweet alternative, cook Camargue Red Rice in coconut milk, add soft brown sugar and cinnamon, and serve with baked peaches
