Appetite for Change Recycle Scheme
We want to help save the planet one delicious plant-based meal at a time. But our appetite for change does not stop there. There are still certain plastics which can’t be recycled at home and previously our pouches have been going to landfill.
So we’re happy to announce that we have teamed up with Enval, and created the Appetite for Change Recycle Scheme. A scheme to help close the loop and leave no plastic unrecycled.
WHY WOULD I DO IT?
Merchant Gourmet takes no profit from this scheme. By paying for an envelope or just filling the one you have, you are helping to part-pay for the cost of the scheme, and also making a contribution to the development of this amazing new recycling technology. Most importantly you are helping close the recycling loop and making a statement that matters.
Our recycling partner Enval has developed the world’s only truly sustainable process for the treatment of plastic aluminium laminates. This process turns the plastic into oil that can be made into new plastics and the aluminium is ready to make into new products. This is a step closer to fully closing the recycling loop.
WANT TO RECYCLE OUR POUCHES?
Easy. Clean out the packs you want to recycle, order one of our pre-paid recycling envelopes then simply pop them in the envelope and when it’s full (about 12 packs we reckon) put it in the post box.
WHAT POUCHES CAN I RECYCLE?
You can recycle our ready to eat pulses and grains pouches, as well as our chestnut and chestnut puree pouches in this scheme. If you want to include similar pouches from the pulses and grains category, please contact Enval directly to see if they can accept the particular type of packaging here www.enval.com/contact-us
WHERE DO I GET THE ENVELOPES?
Our special pre-paid envelopes which are made from material which can be recycled along with our pouches. If you want to be part of our recycling scheme, simply sign up to our newsletter below and we will send an envelope free of charge to you as soon as they arrive.
