Chocolate Chestnut Tiffin

Rich chocolate, crunchy biscuits and Chestnuts come together in this simple no-bake tiffin. Finished with a smooth chocolate topping, it's the perfect sweet treat for gifting, sharing or enjoying alongside a cup of tea.

Chocolate Chestnut Tiffin
Ingredients
  • 150g unsalted plant-based butter
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 50g golden syrup
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 150g biscuits, roughly crushed
  • 1 pouch Merchant Gourmet Whole Chestnuts, roughly chopped
  • 75g plant-based milk chocolate
  • 150g plant-based dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids)

  1. Grease and line a 20cm x 20cm square tin with baking parchment.
  2. Place the butter, caster sugar and golden syrup into a large saucepan and heat gently until melted and fully combined.
  3. Sift in the cocoa powder and stir until smooth.
  4. Place the biscuits into a food bag and crush into small chunks using a rolling pin.
  5. Stir the crushed biscuits and Merchant Gourmet Whole Chestnuts into the chocolate mixture until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared tin and press down firmly using the back of a spoon.
  7. Place the milk chocolate and dark chocolate into a heatproof bowl and melt gently in the microwave in short bursts, stirring regularly.
  8. Pour the melted chocolate over the tiffin base and spread evenly.
  9. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours, or until fully set.
  10. Cut into squares and store in the fridge until ready to serve.
