You'll find Merchant Gourmet in all major UK supermarkets, as well as selected independent retailers. Use our Stockists page to find your nearest store.

Following our move to a new warehouse, we've made the difficult decision to close our online shop. Rather than offer a service we couldn't deliver to the standard we'd expect, we've chosen to focus on making Merchant Gourmet products available through our retail partners.

You'll still find us in all major UK supermarkets, including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Ocado, Morrisons and Asda, as well as on Amazon.

Yes! You'll find Merchant Gourmet products in Ireland, France, Iceland and Malta. We're always looking for opportunities to bring our products to more people, so keep an eye out as our range continues to grow.

Product

Not all of our products are gluten free. Our wholegrain products contain gluten, while some ingredients that are naturally gluten free, such as lentils, may be grown alongside wheat or barley or prepared in environments where cross-contamination is possible. If you're avoiding gluten, we recommend checking the ingredients and allergen information on the product page or the back of pack before purchasing.

Yes! Every Merchant Gourmet product is 100% vegan, made with delicious plant-based ingredients and full of flavour.

We don't recommend freezing the pouch itself, but you can freeze the contents once transferred to a suitable freezer-safe container. The good news is our ready-to-eat pouches are designed to be stored in the cupboard, so they'll keep until you're ready to use them.

Our unopened pouches have a long shelf life, so they're perfect for keeping in the cupboard until you need them. You'll find the best before date on the back of each pack.

Once opened, store in the fridge and enjoy within 2–3 days.

We've been championing chestnuts for decades, so we know a thing or two about sourcing the very best. We work with trusted growers across Europe and beyond, selecting each harvest for its exceptional quality, flavour and texture

Packaging

While our pouches can't currently be recycled at home, they can be recycled through our dedicated Recycling Scheme with Enval. Together, we're helping close the loop by giving every pouch a second life. Find out more and get involved here.

It's something we're continually working on. Our pouches need to protect our food and keep it fresh, which currently requires specialist packaging that isn't yet widely recyclable through household collections.

We're working closely with our packaging partners to develop recycle-ready pouches without compromising the quality of our products. In the meantime, we've partnered with Enval to launch our Recycling Scheme, giving customers a simple way to recycle their used pouches and helping us keep more plastic out of landfill. You can find out more about the scheme and order a free recycling envelope here.

Yes. Our chestnut pouches can be recycled through our Recycling Scheme in the same way as our other pouches. Simply collect your empty pouches, order a free recycling envelope and send them back to be recycled.
